use and care

You may spot clean your linen by dabbing a damp cloth onto the spot. If additional cleaning is required apply a gentle clear soap onto the damp cloth and gently dab until the spot is clean. As with most materials, coffee, wine and other difficult stains will be permanent. Do not put any of our items into the washing machine.

Our leather is sourced from Wickett and Craig, a USA based tannery. This chocolate leather is vegetable tanned, full grain traditional harness leather with a distinguished depth of color. Wickett & Craig is known for producing some of the highest end leathers. Traditional harness leather is jack glazed, a process which brings the natural oils to the surface. This creates a glossy finish that never masks the leather’s natural grain.

Leather benefits from daily use. The natural oils in your hands help to condition and soften the leather. The patina that develops is desirable therefore, you will not normally need to clean your leather items. If any of your leather items need attention, you may gently buff with a soft cloth. If you feel the need for further cleaning, saddle soap is a good option. Be sure to follow the package directions and do not get the soap on any of the linen fabric.

Our natural wrap cuff comes to you completely un-touched by any color or conditioning. The joy of this leather is witnessing the evolving nature of leather through every wear. The leather starts out a very light, natural color and will develop into a deep rich caramel color.

Wabi-sabi

Pare down to the essence, but don’t remove the poetry . . . Leonard Koren

Linen and leather are full of texture, character, imperfect wrinkles and depth. The full grain leather we use reveals the natural grain of the leather hide. Our linen goes through a special wash, leaving it with a natural wrinkle and soft antique hand. With careful consideration, the design of our goods celebrates the poetry of these materials.
